Today, with the Internet if full swing, penetrating every aspect of our lives, we have more choices than ever when it comes to choosing insurance. In this way, people are offered so many options from companies that they may not have necessarily heard of. These companies often offer not only deals that seem too good to be true, but also the option to purchase from a company that is not super large.
And while some of these companies offer legitimate deals, some are scams, and some do not offer the same coverage as the tried and true large companies. As an insurance agent, I often get the question of whether or not to trust the big companies or move away from them.
The answer that I almost always give is to trust the companies that have established themselves as credible. Think of how difficult it was to build a reputation when there wasn’t the luxury of social media and the ability to connect with a wide variety of clients seamlessly. Trust had to be built with old fashioned people skills and providing a good service.
Now on the other hand, the Internet has allowed for more competition and better prices for consumers. The important thing to remember, however, is to know who you are doing business with. If you are unsure of the reputation of the company, make sure to check online for reviews and do some investigating before switching from the trusted companies.
